Saira G. Shakir is an associate in the Atlanta, Georgia, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling.
Before joining Jackson Lewis, Saira defended a variety of employers, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, in bad faith and liability matters. As an associate, Saira worked closely with employers to fulfill their litigation needs. As the daughter of Pakistani-immigrants and small-business owners, Saira saw first-hand the commitment and effort it takes to grow a successful business. Through her experiences, Saira developed a passion for working with business owners and employers.
As an undergraduate, Saira co-enrolled at Douglass Residential College, the nation’s only women’s residential college located within a world-renown public research university. Saira received the Barbara Boggs Sigmund Award from the Center for American Women and Politics for her student leadership in the Douglass College community. Saira was also selected as a McNair Burns Scholar by the Political Science Department for achieving one of the top five highest grade point averages. While at Rutgers University, Saira interned at Message & Media, Inc., the Legal Services of New Jersey, and KARAMAH: Muslim Women Lawyer’s for Human Rights.
