Ryan Burandt

Professional Biography

Ryan Burandt is an Associate in the firm’s Chicago office, and a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment group.

Mr. Burandt focuses his practice on representing employers in Labor and employment-related disputes. His practice includes all aspects of employment litigation, from discovery through trial, in both state and federal courts. He has significant experience handling matters involving complex issues of contract interpretation, collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and restrictive covenants and trade secrets.

Mr. Burandt also has extensive experience in arbitration, particularly grievance processing and labor arbitration. He has been involved in every facet of the labor grievance process, from selecting the arbitrator through representing the client during the arbitration hearing.

In addition to resolving disputes on behalf of clients, Mr. Burandt also provides practical advice to employers regarding workplace policies, compliance, and litigation avoidance. He has experience advising clients on a wide variety of employment matters, including wage and hour compliance, restrictive covenants and trade secrets, unfair dismissal allegations, and discrimination issues.

Mr. Burandt earned his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law and received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Denison University.

Before law school, Mr. Burandt served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
