Rand Brothers represents U.S. and international corporations in the areas of product liability, mass torts and complex commercial litigation. His clients have encompassed a wide variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, transportation, telecommunications, and manufacturing. He also frequently engages with experts and scientists in diverse fields such as pharmacokinetics, pathology, epidemiology, oncology, pharmacovigilance, and pharmaceutical regulation. Rand is currently the lead associate for multi-district litigation and related state court proceedings involving Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc.’s blockbuster drug, Abilify®.
Rand has experience in all phases of litigation—from developing claims and defenses, to authoring critical briefs in courts across the country, to examining expert witnesses at hearings and trial. Rand has also formulated and led discovery plans for multi-million dollar disputes that have resulted in favorable and cost-effective outcomes for his clients.
Rand maintains an active pro bono practice, which has recently included representation of a service member discharged pursuant to Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and representation of a coalition of non-profit organizations in an immigration asylum appeal to the Ninth Circuit as amicus curiae.
