Qi is an associate and a registered patent attorney whose practice encompasses prosecuting US and international patents, patent portfolio development and management, and strategic IP counseling. She has a background in electrical engineering and telecommunications.
Qi partners with her clients to protect innovations in a broad range of technologies, including software, digital maps, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, fintech, blockchain, quantum computing, batteries, medical devices, intraoral scanners, cardiac mapping, robotics, brain stimulation systems, and data storage. She also conducts IP due diligence for financings and IPOs and prepares patent opinions, including freedom to operate and landscape analyses. Additionally, Qi has experience drafting appeal briefs for cases before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board at the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Prior to joining Mintz, Qi was an associate at an international law firm, where she focused on patent prosecution and advising clients on a variety of strategic IP issues.
Before law school, she worked as a patent agent at law firms in the United States and China.
