Pilar conducts legal research and drafts resolutions and agreements for healthcare clients acquiring new facilities, expanding their practices, or in preparation for health care arbitration and litigation. Her goal is to provide personalized, efficient and innovative support and the best possible client-driven solution. She advises hospitals and physician groups on operational, regulatory, legal, employment, and government matters.
Pilar brings a unique perspective to clients, having worked for the federal government, hospitals, nonprofit organizations, and state health departments, where she helped address healthcare concerns such as community health, healthcare disparities, nutrition, and patient safety.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg full-time, Pilar was a summer associate with the firm, where she created a 50-state survey on the feasibility of Medicare recipients paying out-of-pocket for services.
