Mitchell Berry focuses his practice in the areas of labor and employment litigation and education law. He prides himself on crafting cutting-edge answers to clients’ employment law concerns and defending businesses both in and out of court.
Mitchell is thorough and strategic in his work, and is driven to finding solutions that meet his client’s needs, even in the toughest situations.
Having started his career in private practice and with a prosecutor’s office, Mitchell brings a balanced perspective to business clients.
He represents employers facing employment litigation, as well as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) related issues. He also drafts and responds to written discovery for cases in federal and state courts, and prepares position statements on behalf of employers in response to administrative charges of discrimination and retaliation.
Additionally, Mitchell assists clients in education, both public and private in school corporations and parochial school systems (K-12), with employment and student disability matters through dispute resolution and in the court, as needed.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Mitchell served as a deputy prosecuting attorney with the Allen County (Indiana) Prosecutor’s Office and an associate with an Indiana-based law firm. At Notre Dame Law School, he was a certified legal intern with the Notre Dame Clinical Law Center.
