Martin P. Vigodnier is an associate in the Los Angeles, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in workplace law matters, including preventive advice and counseling, in addition to advising employers on emerging California workplace law issues. Martin prides himself on engendering a collaborative spirit with clients in order to deliver quality service to fit their particular goals and desires.
Martin defends employers in a wide range of employment litigation matters, including wage-and-hour class actions, California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) cases, discrimination, leaves of absence, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, independent contractor, whistleblower claims, and labor-related issues.
Martin also leverages his fluency in Spanish (his first language) for clients by drafting a broad array of legal documents, including arbitration, settlement, independent contractor, and cross-purchase buy-sell agreements, employee handbooks, workplace safety, and anti-harassment/retaliation policies.
As a former store manager and team member of an international apparel brand, Martin knows all too well that workplace law matters may often be difficult to grasp and comprehend. Because of this, Martin enjoys conducting training and informative seminars for business owners by breaking down complex legal issues into digestible morsels so that they may better understand their rights and responsibilities.
While at law school, Martin received the school’s merit-based scholarship, and was an editor on the Journal of Law, Technology and Policy. Martin was also involved with the Latina/Latino Law Student Association and received a pro bono notation due to his volunteer efforts with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Outside of work, Martin is a passionate sports fan — especially football, soccer, boxing and basketball — and is an avid tech and electronics enthusiast, having built several custom computers from scratch for friends and family.
