Marc Pakrul

Professional Biography

Marc Pakrul is a Partner in MKCI’s Livingston, NJ and New York City offices. His practice focuses on litigation, including the defense of individuals, businesses, non-profits, and insurance carriers in a variety of contexts. Marc’s litigation practice includes the defense of automobile and trucking claims, premises liability claims, and the defense of clients who are public entities and educational institutions against a variety of claims and allegations.

Prior to joining MKCI, Marc personally handled a wide array of civil cases from inception to conclusion throughout the New Jersey and New York state and federal courts. As the designated trial attorney for all of his cases, Marc conducted and defended countless depositions of parties, witnesses and experts, both for simple discovery purposes and de bene esse depositions for use at the time of trial. In particular, Marc acted as local counsel on behalf of several of the world’s largest financial institutions in defense of class action lawsuits arising out of the mortgage foreclosure and “robo-signing” crisis.

Marc has commenced a substantial number of trials throughout his career, and obtained a number of jury verdicts. In addition, Marc has been published in connection with the matter of Villanova v. Innovative Investigations, Inc., 420 N.J. Super. 353 (App. Div. 2011).

Marc was named a New Jersey Super Lawyer from2017 to 2020 and was selected as a New Jersey Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2008 to 2013.*

On a personal level, Marc enjoys spending his time watching his children play on the soccer field – either from the sidelines as a spectator or coach – and is intent upon increasing his number of completed marathons (which has been stalled at two for far too long!)

Marc obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law. After completing law school, Marc clerked for the Honorable Bernard F. Conway, J.S.C., Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris County. In addition, he subsequently attended and completed the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Trial Academy at the Stanford University School of Law. Marc also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and History from Rutgers College. Marc was both a Garden State Scholar and an Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar at Rutgers.
