M. Brooks Miller

Professional Biography

Brooks is an associate in Ogletree Deakins’ Greenville office, focusing on Labor and Employment Practice and general litigation.

Brooks has extensive experience in product liability litigation and personal injury defense, defending major automotive manufacturers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and consumer products manufacturers. Brooks has been the lead associate for two product liability cases that were tried in Louisiana, providing him significant experience in all phases of trial preparation from motions practice to expert testimony. He has extensive experience in MDL litigation, such as the Toyota Unintended Acceleration MDL and the Takata Airbag MDL. Brooks also spent several months working as in-house counsel, through a secondment, for a large commercial and consumer product manufacturer.

Brooks earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He was named to the Order of the Coif, selected for the Order of the Wig and Robe, and earned a CALI award for Payment Systems. He also served as the Senior Articles Editor for the South Carolina Law Review and was a lead research assistant to Professor David G. Owen, editing the third edition of the Products Liability Hornbook. Brooks earned a B.A., cum laude, double-majoring in Political Science and History from Furman University.
