Lauren R. Presser is an associate in the San Diego, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Her practice focuses on representing employers in all aspects of employment litigation, including defending employers in state and federal court in class actions, multi-plaintiff lawsuits, and claims under the Private Attorney Generals Act (PAGA). Having litigated class actions on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants, Lauren’s experience provides a unique perspective to litigation and preventive advice on behalf of her clients.
Prior to her legal career, Lauren co-founded a business which she grew from a garage to a company spanning across the United States and several continents. This experience gave her an unshakable understanding of the needs of businesses and the distinct challenges a business owner faces in the current market. Lauren utilizes this understanding to better assist her clients from both a litigation and preventive guidance standpoint.
Lauren has had a talent for immersing herself in complex litigation, with a history of both prosecuting and defending class actions. Starting as a law student, Lauren successfully pursued a case in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit against multiple employers and the State of Arizona to argue whether an entity could contract out of their obligations as employer under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Now, as a more seasoned litigator, Lauren has defended her clients in high-exposure multi-state class actions to consistently positive outcomes. She has had a proven track record in leading the defense of Fortune 500 companies to mom-and-pop shops to achieve favorable results.
