Professional Biography

Joshua Baker is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey. Prior to joining Young Law Group, Joshua was a civil litigator at an established Philadelphia law firm focusing on employment law, discrimination and civil rights matters.

Joshua joined the Young Law Group as an associate in March of 2024 and focuses his practice on whistleblower and retaliation actions under federal and state False Claims Act (FCA) statutes, in addition to the SEC and CFTC Whistleblower Programs, the IRS Whistleblower Program and others like it. As a litigator, Joshua is highly motivated to help those who have been wronged by powerful institutions in our society and those who oppose and report fraud relating to the use of taxpayer moneys and feels privileged to be able to work to correct these injustices.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Joshua worked for nearly four years as a law clerk for the law firm of Weir Greenblatt Pierce, LLP. During most of his tenure as a law clerk, Joshua was also a full-time student at Rutgers Law School where he was a Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholar. Working at a law firm while attending law school allowed Joshua to develop practical legal skills in the workplace while contemporaneously learning abstract legal theory and doctrine in the classroom.

During the fall of 2017, Joshua served as an intern in the chambers of the Honorable Theodore A. McKee of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. As a law student, he excelled in the study of employment law and, in recognition of his achievements in that area, was presented with the American Bar Association and Bureau of National Affairs Labor and Employment Law Award by the Rutgers Law School faculty prior to his graduation in May of 2018.

Joshua graduated cum laude from Rutgers University in 2010, earning a B.A. with high honors in sociology. After obtaining his undergraduate degree, he taught English as a foreign language in Seoul, South Korea from 2011 to 2014 before returning to the U.S. and entering the legal field.

In his free time, Joshua enjoys cooking, traveling, DJing, thrift shopping, and collecting records.
