John R. Bednarz truly enjoys working with inventors and entrepreneurs. He counsels clients by applying his computer science background and experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. He also has experience working with clients in obtaining and enforcing patents related to Internet systems, graphics processing, communications, mobile systems, databases, computer architectures, user interfaces, and business methods.
Prior to joining Polsinelli, John worked at intellectual property boutiques in Washington, D.C. where his practice focused on all aspects of United States and foreign patent preparation and prosecution, as well as United States post-grant proceedings. Prior to law school, John participated in the Transatlantic Program where he interned with NCR Corporation in Augsburg, Germany. While with NCR, he served as a software engineer intern with German coworkers to develop point-of-sale software. In addition, John completed a software engineering internship with the U.S. Postal Service Integrated Business Solutions Center in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., where he assisted with the development of parcel tracking software. John has also developed multiple iOS applications that are available for download in the iOS App Store.
