Jason R. Dawson is Of Counsel in the San Diego, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C.
Mr. Dawson has extensive litigation experience over a 20-year career representing a wide range of businesses from Fortune 100 companies to sole proprietorship business owners, non-profits, insurers, public entities, associations, franchises, and boards of directors, including union and non-union employers. He has considerable trial experience with nearly 50 successful cases through jury verdict, judicial verdict, arbitration award, and administrative decision. He has also successfully argued appeals in both the California and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeal.
Mr. Dawson defends both single plaintiff and representative matters and has developed many successful strategies defending wage and hour class actions in state and federal courts in California and multiple other states. He has extensive experience advising and defending employers through the recent proliferation of California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) representative actions, providing strategies and insights to effectively manage risk and exposure.
Mr. Dawson also devotes a substantial portion of his practice to advising and counseling employers on California employment law with strategies to promote compliance and reduce future litigation risk. When not in the courtroom, he enjoys presenting training seminars to management and employees always with the goal of maximizing compliance and reducing future exposure.
