Jason Mehta is an experienced, Chambers-ranked trial lawyer. He is the current chair of the Florida Bar Health Law Section, a membership group of 1,500+ health care lawyers in Florida. In the past two years, Jason has first-chaired a six-week federal healthcare criminal trial resulting in an acquittal on every count for his client; he has also first-chaired a successful month-long federal civil trial in which his client prevailed on every count involving claims in excess of $60 million. Apart from those trial victories, Jason has also successfully secured the declination of criminal charges in the past two years for clients in the cancer genetic space, the 340(b) prescription drug program, and the Medicare COVID OTC kit program. Similarly, he has secured the successful dismissal of qui tam cases involving Medicaid financing, Medicare Advantage plans, and psychiatric hospital in-patient treatments.
