Jane E. Petoskey is an associate attorney in the Technology Transactions and Data Privacy practice group. Jane regularly advises clients of all sizes and industries through privacy and data security matters, including counseling on compliance with domestic and international privacy and data security laws and regulations, including the CCPA, COPPA, GLBA, HIPAA/HITECH, and GDPR. Further, Jane advises clients on best practices to prepare for and prevent cybersecurity incidents. Jane is committed to understanding each client’s business model, practices, and objectives to best advise clients on legal requirements arising from data and privacy incidents.
Prior to joining Polsinelli, Jane was an associate attorney at a Chicago law firm where she investigated various cyber and privacy matters, including ransomware, distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, Office 365 breaches, phishing attacks, business-income losses arising from system outages, and third-party claims arising from privacy class-action lawsuits, under cyber and privacy insurance policies issued by various underwriting syndicates in the Lloyds of London insurance market. Jane also revised cyber and privacy insurance policies based on emerging risks in the market.
Jane is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the United States (CIPP/US).
