Professional Biography

James T. Evans is an Associate and Member of Stark & Stark’s Nursing Home Litigation Group. Mr. Evans concentrates his practice on negligence, neglect, and abuse claims with an emphasis on wrongful death, elopements, falls, and bedsores, arising in nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, dementia care homes, and group homes. Prior to joining Stark & Stark, James litigated such claims on behalf of injured individuals and their families.

A first-generation college student, James attended DeSales University on a full-tuition, academic scholarship. Following his undergraduate studies, James worked as a legal assistant for a prominent, Philadelphia-based, personal injury law firm. There, while assisting on various medical malpractice and catastrophic injury matters, he developed a deep commitment to helping those that have been injured, due to the negligence of others.

During law school, James demonstrated himself as a top student: He earned four CALI Excellence for the Future Awards (in Regulating Patient Safety, Comparative Health Law, Lawyering Practice Seminar, and Health Care Business Regulation), and he was recognized at graduation as the top student in the Health Law concentration.

Additionally, during law school, James took on several roles outside of the classroom. He was a pro-bono intern for the SeniorLAW Center, a non-profit organization devoted to helping seniors know their rights and prevent legal crises from occurring, through expansive community education. He interned for a Philadelphia trial law firm, dedicated to representing injury victims in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and whistleblowers nationwide. He also clerked for a law firm focused on nursing home neglect and abuse.

A longtime resident of the Mercer County area, James currently lives in Lawrence Township with his wife and his dog.
