Professional Biography

Ghazaleh Modarresi is of counsel in the Silicon Valley, California, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. She advises, counsels, and defends businesses and management in all facets of labor and employment law. 

Ghazaleh regularly defends employers in state and federal courts, arbitration, and before administrative agencies. Her diverse practice includes litigating cases involving employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, disability and other leave-related claims, wage-and-hour and PAGA claims, unfair business practices, whistleblower claims, and wrongful discharge. 

In addition to litigation, Ghazaleh provides advice and counsel on day-to-day labor and employment-related issues. She works closely with her clients to develop appropriate strategies to avoid litigation and minimize potential exposure in the area of employee relations. She provides practical advice and counsel on wage-and-hour issues, leaves of absence, accommodation of disabilities, preparation and implementation of employment policies, advice on employee hiring, discipline and separations, and managing and/or conducting workplace investigations and trainings.

Ghazaleh is a former adjunct clinical professor of the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she taught a course in the school’s Employment Law Clinic. She is called upon regularly as a speaker for conferences, seminars, and trainings addressing employment law issues and developments. During law school, she was a judicial extern for Senior United States District Judge Susan Illston.

Beyond her regular legal practice, Ghazaleh serves as a member of the Board of Directors of JW House, a non-profit organization that helps keep families together during times of medical crisis.
