Farzana Ahmed is an Associate at Wilson Elser's Chicago office. She advises clients on cybersecurity and data privacy matters to meet compliance with applicable data privacy laws. She handles breach response and related cybersecurity matters, and aids clients in complying with notification requirements, regulatory investigations and litigation. Farzana communicates with state and federal regulators, such as state Attorneys General, state Departments of Insurance, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Civil Rights.
During law school, as the editor in chief and as a staff member of the Journal of Art, Technology & Intellectual Property Law, Farzana published articles and a journal issue. The focus of her research and writing is on data privacy.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser as a law clerk, Farzana aided individuals with digital currency tax compliance at a tax law firm specializing in cryptocurrency. As a legal intern, she supported the legal team of a facility management software company. She also clerked at a small intellectual property, social media, entertainment and business law firm where she drafted privacy policies and supported counsel with social media litigation.
