Emily is a real estate attorney with a growing practice focused on real estate transactions, real estate development, and commercial landlord-tenant matters. She assists clients with drafting and negotiating purchase agreements, reviewing title examinations, and addressing title-related concerns. Emily also guides clients through closing transactions and reviews loan documents.
In real estate development, Emily helps clients navigate the approval and permitting processes with government agencies, supporting them through each phase of their projects.
Emily further advises on landlord-tenant matters, including drafting and negotiating leases and assisting landlords with tenant-related issues such as lease amendments, claims, and collections.
Prior to joining Ward and Smith full-time, Emily served as a summer associate with the firm, following her judicial internship with the Honorable Chris Dillon of the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
