She also works with clients in the financial sector, including the cryptocurrency and digital asset space. Elena conducts internal reviews and investigations and defends clients in white-collar criminal matters and civil litigation. She is skilled at counseling clients who are undergoing investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General (OIG), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other federal and state government authorities. She advises clients on responding to government-issued subpoenas and civil investigatory demands (CIDs) and in enforcement matters at both state and federal levels.
Elena also has experience advising clients on health care regulatory, transactional, and related matters, which contributes to her investigative toolbox as she is skilled in discerning potential risk areas and opportunities for improvement through her familiarity with these areas of practice. Additionally, Elena is adept at advising privately owned physician practices on their regulatory matters and focuses her counseling primarily on the plastic surgery, dermatology, and mental health areas of medical practice.
Elena has an active pro bono practice where she assists asylum seekers in their proceedings before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Elena was previously a judicial intern with the Honorable Kathe Tuttman of the Superior Court of Massachusetts. She formally served as an appointee to the Advisory Board for the New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids, which focuses on reversing the obesity epidemic across the state of New Jersey.
