Claudia Benz focusses her practice on investment funds and real estate. Prior to joining McDermott, she was a senior in-house counsel at the German Investment Funds Association. She also worked as an in-house counsel for German investment fund managers.
Claudia Benz advises fund managers, investors and asset managers, as well as regulated and unregulated funds, with all regulatory aspects concerning the set-up, structuring and management of funds and their acquisitions. In particular, she has extensive experience in the following:
- Providing regulatory advice to investment fund managers including on negotiations with supervisory authorities in Germany and abroad
- The set-up and structuring of retail and special funds (both corporate and contractual type)
- Providing regulatory advice for UCITS and AIFs
- Providing regulatory advice in connection with new fund regulations, including negotiations with ministries and authorities.
