Professional Biography

Dominic Yobbi understands how critical it is to protect ideas and the individuals who create them. Combining his knowledge of engineering and passion for intellectual property law, Dominic assists clients with a range of IP needs, particularly in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.

Dominic works closely with clients, from individual inventors to multinational corporations, in order to protect their ideas and solidify their position in the market. By working directly with inventors and creators, Dominic prepares patent applications, responds to office actions and notices, evaluates and recommends prosecution and portfolio strategies, and advises and instructs foreign associates. He also conducts prior art and trademark searches, prepares patentability evaluations and freedom to operate opinions, and handles trademark oppositions. 

After earning his aerospace/mechanical engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University, Dominic worked as a software testing engineer for Ansys Inc., where he provided support in the development of engineering simulation software used to determine how objects and materials behave in the physical world. He also completed research during his time at Case Western studying how new algorithms added to the Ansys meshing module would affect computational fluid dynamics results on fluid flow analysis. 

By combining his experience with software engineering and programming with his knowledge of aerospace and mechanical engineering, Dominic is able to assist clients with a wide variety of technology areas. Dominic's current clientele includes companies and inventors operating in automotive, aerospace, appliance, tools, materials, and software application technology spaces.
