David Schmid is an expert Civil Trial Attorney as certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. He is also a member of the firm’s Accident & Personal Injury practice.
Mr. Schmid focuses his practice on cases involving serious and catastrophic injuries, and specializes on severe burn injuries, construction injuries, automobile negligence, and premises liability.
Mr. Schmid takes on cases with the goal of bringing meaningful change to the people involved and changing behavior at a societal level. Often, these are cases that require substantial time and resources.
Mr. Schmid serves his clients through his involvement in professional organizations operated for the benefit of burn survivors and other seriously injured victims. He is a member of the American Burn Association and National Fire Protection Association and frequently contributes articles and blogs focusing on the care, recovery and rights of burn injury survivors. Mr. Schmid is a volunteer camp counselor at the Camp Susquehanna burn camp for adolescent burn survivors. He is also a member of the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors’ “Team Phoenix” through which he raises funds for burn survivors. In addition, Mr. Schmid has lectured nationally on the topic of catastrophic burn injury litigation. He also obtained an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-hour outreach training certificate for the construction industry with an additional certificate for completing more focused training on OSHA Fire Detection and Protection standards for General Industry.
Mr. Schmid serves as a leader of associations dedicated to preserving legal rights of individuals and access to the courts. He is on the Board of Governors of the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ) and serves as a co-chair of the Public Relations Committee and Law Student Relations Committees. He has co-authored numerous amicus briefs on behalf of NJAJ.
In addition, Mr. Schmid is a member of the American Association for Justice and the Mercer County Bar Association. Mr. Schmid is also certified by the Administrative Office of the Courts as a mediator in the State of New Jersey.
