David E. Snyder is an associate in the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's San Francisco office. Before practicing law, he was a newspaper reporter. He worked as a staff writer at the Washington Post, the Dallas Morning News and the Albuquerque Tribune.

Mr. Snyder advises newspaper, magazine and Internet clients on legal issues related to privacy, the First Amendment and copyright. He has litigated the right of access to public records under the First Amendment, the California Public Records Act, and the common law right of access. He has experience representing media and individual clients in actions alleging defamation and related claims, and has successfully moved numerous times under California’s anti-SLAPP statute to dismiss complaints alleging defamation and other causes of action.
