David E. Martin is a Principal in the St. Louis, Missouri, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. His practice focuses on representing employers in class, collective, and representative actions filed in federal and state courts.
Before joining Jackson Lewis, Mr. Martin was the Vice President-Litigation for a large national retailer. During the 26 years he worked for the retailer, he served as the lead trial and appellate counsel in a wide-variety of litigation matters filed against the company, including employee wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions, employment arbitration agreements and the enforcement of their class action waivers, mass arbitrations, and miscellaneous class and complex commercial matters. He argued cases before the Fourth, Eighth, and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Connecticut Supreme Court, and the California Court of Appeals and appeared in federal and state trial courts across the country.
Mr. Martin previously worked in a mid-size litigation firm in St. Louis, Missouri, where he represented companies in complex commercial matters, served as a law clerk to the Honorable George F. Gunn, Jr. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, and taught research and writing to first year law students at Washington University in St. Louis.
