Danielle M. DeFilippis, Co-Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Law Practice Group, focuses her practice on intellectual property matters and litigation. She appears on behalf of individual and corporate clients in all phases of litigation from commencement through trial. Danielle regularly serves as lead counsel in cases before federal and state courts, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and alternative resolution forums. In the transactional area, Danielle is experienced with trademark clearance, prosecution and enforcement as well as licensing and other contractual work.
Danielle has represented clients in various industries, most notably food and beverage, liquor, jewelry, cosmetics, sports, media and entertainment, focusing on trademark prosecution and litigation. Her cases have involved trademark and copyright infringement, false advertising, commercial disparagement, business torts, deceptive trade practices, Lanham Act claims, state and federal unfair competition laws, and other business disputes. Danielle manages global trademark portfolios, working with both domestic and foreign clients.
Danielle is a frequent speaker on intellectual property topics and is active in trade organizations including the International Trademark Association (INTA), serving on the Trademark Office Practices Committee. She is a regular contributor to Norris McLaughlin’s trademark, copyright, and unfair competition law blog, More Than Your Mark®.
Danielle was recognized as Tier 1 by Media Law International 2023 and ROI Influencers: Law 2022. Danielle was also honored by NJBIZ in its “2021 Law Power 50” and “2021 Leaders in Law” listings for her expertise and dedication to her occupation and community. She has also been recognized by NJBIZ in its “Manufacturing Power 50” list and named to New Jersey Law Journal’s 2019 list of “New Jersey Trailblazers” for her efforts in the food and beverage industry throughout New Jersey and for expanding those efforts on a global scale.
