Dan Fitzgerald is a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property practice group where he co-chairs the mechanical practice group. He specializes in mechanical, electro-mechanical and computer-related patent preparation and prosecution, freedom to operate opinions, invalidity and non-infringement opinions, and patent portfolio development and management. He has worked on subject matter including packaging products and machinery, control systems, railroad equipment, financial transaction systems and other computer-related systems. He has negotiated numerous agreements relating to the development and transfer of technology and routinely counsels clients on the acquisition and/or sale of intellectual property. He also actively participates in litigation and dispute counseling relating to these areas.
