Christina Hassan practices principally in the commercial real estate area, with a core focus on transactions in the hospitality and lodging industry. Christina regularly advises clients, including hotel operators, private equity funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs), publicly held corporations and real estate developers, on transactions involving the acquisition, financing, disposition, development, franchising, leasing and management of hotels, resorts, restaurants and special event facilities. She also counsels clients in structuring investments in hospitality properties. She has acted as primary counsel in numerous transactions worldwide, including on every continent other than Antarctica.
Christina previously was a partner in Katten's Washington, DC office and rejoined the firm after serving as senior vice president and associate general counsel of Morgans Hotel Group, a boutique hotel operator headquartered in New York. While at Morgans, she was responsible for all hotel development matters, and also had primary legal responsibility for creating Morgans' hotel franchise program. Christina also has been a partner in the Washington, DC office of Hogan Lovells, where she was a member of the Hotels, Leisure and Gaming practice, and was a Corporate and Real Estate associate for a large law firm headquartered in Cincinnati.
