Catherine Yoon is special counsel in the New York Financial Services practice group, with a focus on helping clients better understand and leverage blockchain and other forms of distributed ledger technology. In this area, she helps clients drive implementation and rollout of new initiatives and partnerships; spearheads opportunities to build new partnerships, including those to bring in customers and revenue; collaborates with management on product development; and establishes relationships with other blockchain founding teams and companies to expand partnership opportunities.
In addition to Cathy's experience in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space, Cathy previously advised and represented various stakeholders on a variety of legal matters both domestically and internationally, including acquisitions, divestitures, strategic initiatives, FinTech and other minority investments, and other general corporate matters. She guides founding teams, emerging companies and corporate clients to structure deals, manage projects, navigate complex legal issues, and assist with fundraising and marketing strategies. Cathy is a frequent speaker on legal and other matters relating to blockchain and cryptocurrency.
Prior to joining Katten, Cathy was general counsel for a blockchain advisory firm and its affiliated investment banking firm focused primarily on private placements and M&A advisory in the digital asset space.
