Cara Swindlehurst handles a wide range of matters on behalf of employers, insurance companies and underwriters. She also has experience in commercial litigation, including labor and employment, bankruptcy, liability and trial preparation, as well as corporate and real estate matters.
Cara worked in Michigan’s Executive Office, where she drafted amendments to Michigan statutes and the State Constitution, and drafted policies for the state and the City of Detroit. She also served as a law clerk at the Michigan Attorney General’s Office in the Consumer Protection and Corporate Oversight divisions, where she worked on policy implementation and communicated with Fortune 500 oil companies regarding a possible antitrust concern with gas prices. While in law school, Cara interned for the University of Notre Dame's General Counsel's Office and for a legal aid clinic. Cara is the author of “Resolution Mechanisms to Combat Financial Pressures within Colleges and Universities,” The Journal of College and University Law, NACUA, Volume 41, Issue 2 (2015).
