Ms. Stewart has more than 35 years of experience in estates, trusts, and fiduciary litigation. She spent nearly 20 years as a tax lawyer helping clients plan and administer estates before becoming Presiding Judge of the Denver Probate Court, a position she held for 16 years. Today, Ms. Stewart uses her experience to help clients evaluate options and identify solutions in the arena of fiduciary litigation. In particular, she helps fiduciary litigators and their clients to develop favorable outcomes through alternative dispute resolution when traditional litigation is undesirable or inadvisable.
Ms. Stewart focuses her practice on alternative dispute resolution. Her judicial experience uniquely suits her for selection as an appointed judge, special master, arbitrator, or mediator. She handles cases involving complex estate and trust administration issues, wealth transfer disputes, will and trust contests, conflicts regarding fiduciary responsibility and liability, and contested protective proceedings.
