Bryan Cantrell is a counsel in the Newark office and represents management in all facets of employment law, including defense against federal and state law claims of employment discrimination based on factors such as race, creed, color, national origin, nationality, ancestry, age, sex (including pregnancy and sexual harassment), marital status, domestic partnership status, affectional or sexual orientation, and mental or physical disability as well as in litigation concerning retaliation and whistleblowing, wage and hour disputes, employment contracts, misappropriation of trade secrets, and non-competition and nondisclosure agreements. He practices before state and federal courts and administrative agencies as well as in Alternative Dispute Resolution forums such as the American Arbitration Association.
Bryan also counsels clients on properly responding to internal employee complaints alleging discrimination, harassment or other improper conduct and conducts reorganizations and reductions in force and the accompanying disparate impact analyses, federal and state WARN notifications, and preparation of severance agreements. Bryan also supports clients with employment-related issues within corporate transactional matters, such as crafting and analyzing representations and warranties in purchase agreements, conducting due diligence analysis, and managing executive and other employee transitions in connection with transactional closings.
Bryan represents employers in all sectors, but has particular experience in the banking, financial services, retail, and health care industries.
