Bruce Raymond is a Partner in MKCI’s Hartford, CT office. He has successfully tried numerous cases in state and federal courts in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Bruce’s experience includes defense of matters involving: asbestos, product liability, business litigation, construction defect, professional liability, cyber liability, data security and privacy, IT errors and omissions, toxic torts including asbestos, fire loss , premises liability, and traumatic brain injury. He will be running the day to day operations of our Asbestos Department while continuing to defend clients in complex general liability litigation.
In his career Bruce Raymond has served as lead trial counsel in more than 1000 litigated cases including representation of John Deere in its successful defense of a product liability fire case. Metropolitan Property & Casualty Ins. Co. v. Deere & Co., 302 Conn. 123; 25 A.3d 571 (2011); He represented Ocean State Job Lot in its successful mode of operation appeal Hill v. OSJ of Bloomfield, LLC, 200 Conn. App. 149; 239 A.3d 345 (2020).
Bruce has served as: President of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association; Member, DRI National Board of Directors; and CLM Regional Director. He was named as one of The Best and Brightest Business Attorneys (Hartford Magazine 2010).
Bruce is the lead author of the Connecticut chapter for DRI’s publication “Product Liability Defenses: A State-by-State Compendium (2013). Outside of the law, Bruce’s interests include live music (rock, blues, jazz), sports, hiking and kayaking.
Bruce obtained his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the New England School of Law. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
