Brian Dollar practices in the areas of cybersecurity and privacy breach response, pre- and post-event. He analyzes client compliance with GLBA, COPPA, HIPAA/HITECH, and related state, federal, and international laws. Brian also advises on identifying, evaluating and managing first- and third-party data privacy and security risks. Brian has earned the U.S. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) designation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Brian worked for the City of Chicago, where he managed investigations into allegations of police misconduct, and in private practice, working with businesses in dealing with a wide range of commercial disputes. Upon finishing law school, Brian clerked in the Western District of Louisiana.
Before entering the legal field, Brian served six years in the Marine Corps as a communications officer. His duties entailed managing all aspects of computer, telephone and radio networks, including planning, building and securing networks in a wide range of environments.
