As a principal in Miller Canfield's Corporate and Securities group, Aimee Jachym represents businesses in commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance matters.
Corporate Law
Using her background in business and international affairs to meet the needs of local and global clients, Aimee counsels businesses of all sizes, including public institutions and start-ups, in diverse matters ranging from contract assistance and real estate to regulatory matters and complex agreements. She also serves as outside general counsel to a number of corporate clients and advises owners of privately-held entities on ownership issues, fiduciary duties, and succession planning.
Investment Advisory Practice
Aimee also has experience in securities and private equity matters. She represents investment advisory firms in all aspects of their organization, registration and compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and succession planning matters. She also advises investment advisory firms with regard to customer transitioning, regulatory concerns, investment advisor representatives and supervision, and general business matters.
Health Care
Aimee also represents physicians and physician practice groups in all areas of their practices. Well-versed in the ins-and-outs of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA"), Aimee helps clients understand the ins and outs of HIPAA compliance and related health care matters. She also routinely drafts and reviews business associate agreements.
International
As a member of the firm's International Practice, Aimee works on a variety of cross-border and international trade matters. She represents Korean clients doing business in the United States and also advises domestic clients looking to expand their businesses to new markets.
Aimee was previously was an in-house commercial contracts manager for a Fortune 250 aerospace company, where she negotiated settlements and interpreted contracts, provided export controls compliance support and assisted with global business development. Prior to joining Miller Canfield, Aimee also gained experience working in the legal department of a global auto manufacturer.
