What Companies Should Post on Social Media About Ramadan, Passover and Easter
Sunday, April 17, 2022

It’s not often that a major holiday from three faiths happen on the same weekend – in fact it’s a synchronicity that only occurs every 33 years according to the news reports I read.

My family celebrates two of these holidays – Passover and Easter – and maybe you are also in a similar situation. I’m looking forward to seeing my family in person to celebrate after too many zoom holidays since the pandemic.

That being said, some companies may want to post a greeting on their social media feeds wishing their clients, employees and friends a Happy Passover, Happy Easter or Ramadan Mubarak (which simply means Blessed Ramadan) but before you do that, read this post.

As a company, if you are planning to post on social media about these holidays, my advice is either to create posts about each of them or don’t do any of them.

Religious holidays can be tricky and you can easily offend people by omitting one.

Don’t choose one holiday over the other because you have employees or clients who you know celebrate a particular holiday.

Your clients, employees and others notice what you post online and silently make a mental note.

So be inclusive.

Or skip posting this year until you build a comprehensive social media holiday calendar. (Reach out to me if you need help with this.) Inclusiveness is always the way to go.

And may the world come together in peace, even if for a couple of short days.
