At last, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has announced that its EEO-1 reporting platform will open on April 26, 2021 for covered employers to file their 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 reports. The portal will remain open through July 19, 2021, giving employers 12 weeks, instead of the usual 10, to report their data. The extended reporting period is due to the fact that, this year, employers will be filing two reports, one for 2019 (postponed from last March 2020 due to the pandemic) and one for 2020. Remember that all private sector employers with 100 or more employees and all employers with 50 or more employees and at least one federal contract or subcontract worth at least $50,000.00 are required to file the annual EEO-1 report. For assistance in preparing your 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 reports, please contact your employment attorney.
