USCIS has made it easier for certain F-1 students who are seeking Optional Practical Training (OPT) and F-1 students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) OPT extensions to apply for premium processing. Beginning March 6, 2023, students who have already filed Form I-765 and fall under the categories of (c)(3)(A) Pre-Completion OPT, (c)(3)(B) Post-Completion OPT, and (c)(3)(C) 24-Month Extension of OPT for STEM students can file Form I-907 online or via paper form to request premium processing. Starting April 3, F-1 students in these categories can file both forms together for premium processing. NOTE: USCIS will reject premium processing requests if they are received before the respective dates mentioned above.
