The Mississippi Gaming Commission held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. at the Jackson office. Executive Director Allen Godfrey, Chairman Al Hopkins, and Commissioners Franc Lee and Tom Gresham all participated. The following matters were considered:

NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Chairman Hopkins announced that Executive Director Allen Godfrey would be retiring effective August 31, 2021, and that the Commissioners had selected Deputy Director Jay McDaniel to become the next Executive Director of the Commission.

LICENSING

The Commission approved the issuance of licenses to the following:

• SG Gaming, Inc., as a Manufacturer and Distributor

• SG Gaming, Inc., as a Multi-Site Wide Area Progressive Operator

• Silver Slipper Casino Venture LLC d/b/a Silver Slipper Casino, as an Operator 

FINDINGS OF SUITABILITY

The Commission approved findings of suitability for the following persons or entities:

• BetMGM, LLC – Ryan Daniel Spoon 

• SW Gaming LLC – Jimmy Carroll Word, Jr.  

OTHER APPROVALS

• Scientific Games Corporation – Renewal of Shelf Offering Approval

• Recommendation Regarding Work Permit Hearing Held and Decision Rendered on March 4, 2021 for Marilyn Lewis

  • The Commission accepted the decision of the hearing officer to revoke the work permit for Marilyn Lewis.
