The Mississippi Gaming Commission held its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at the Jackson offices of the Mississippi Gaming Commission. Executive Director Allen Godfrey, Chairman Al Hopkins, and Commissioners Jerry Griffith and Tom Gresham were in attendance. The following matters were considered:

LICENSING

No new licenses were issued at this meeting. 

FINDINGS OF SUITABILITY

The Mississippi Gaming Commission approved findings of suitability for the following persons and entities:

• Akihiro Harada, Director of Glory LTD.

• Makoto Iwabuchi, Director of Glory Global Solutions, Inc.

• LuAnn Pappas, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Land Holdings I, LLC d/b/a Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort

• Timothy A. Hill, Vice President of Gaming Operations of Land Holdings I, LLC d/b/a Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort

• Victor Duarte, Global Chief Product Officer of IGT

OTHER APPROVALS

The Mississippi Gaming Commission approved the following: 

• Boyd Tunica, Inc. d/b/a Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall and Boyd Biloxi, LLC d/b/a IP Casino Resort Spa received approval for 

  • Pledges of Equity Interests or Securities and

  • Imposition of Equity Restrictions including Negative Equity Pledges.

• Gulfport Gaming Development, LLC received approval of a new gaming site.

WORK PERMITS

The Commission approved the recommendation of the Executive Director to accept the Hearing Officer’s decision to revoke the work permit of Jeremy L. Smith.
