In 2022 the Administration will continue its efforts to pivot to renewable energy and embed climate considerations in every aspect of federal decision-making. We can anticipate a major rulemaking implementing the Department of the Interior’s new authority to allow permanent carbon sequestration on the outer continental shelf, rules impacting oil and gas production from public onshore and offshore lands, continued emphasis on fostering renewable energy production on those same public onshore and offshore lands, and revisions to regulations implementing the Endangered Species Act and Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Join Bracewell as we discuss these anticipated developments as well as related initiatives such as revisions to the regulations implementing the National Environmental Policy Act, which impact all uses of federal natural resources.
