As anticipated, the U.S. Department of Labor has released its proposed regulations implementing Executive Order 13706 – Establishing Paid Sick Leave for Federal Contractors. The official version of the proposed regulations are slated to be published in the Federal Register on February 25, 2016. The formal publication will initiate a 30-day public comment period.
The proposed regulations seek to implement President Obama’s Executive Order directing government contractors to provide paid time off for certain categories of employees working on qualifying contracts.
