The Labor and Employment Practice Group at Sills Cummis & Gross P.C. has been named a 2022 Go-To Thought Leader by the National Law Review. In August of 2022, the New Jersey Supreme Court made a landmark ruling relating to the classification of certain workers as contractors, significantly tightening the definition of the state’s independent business requirements. Firm authors Jill Turner Lever, Mark A. Nehme, Patricia M. Prezioso provided an extensive breakdown of the ruling and its impact on labor law in the state, and Sills Cummins’ Labor & Employment practice group is recognized for its vital contributions for the analysis of independent contractor law in New Jersey.

The National Law Review recognizes Sills, Cummis & Gross as a Go-To Thought Leader for the firm’s COVID-19 coverage focusing on pandemic legislation relevant to the New York and New Jersey areas. Sills attorney – authors kept NLR readers apprised of sick leave rules, workers compensation coverage for essential workers, CARES act updates, executive orders, regional regulations and workplace restrictions. The following Sills, Cummis & Gross New York & New Jersey Coronavirus authors were exceptionally popular with the NLR readers: Grace A. Byrd, Brian A. Haskel, Jill Turner Lever, David I. Rosen, Alan E. Sherman, Jason L. Sobel and Lori M. Waldron.
