Firm History

Attorneys Kevin J. O’Toole and Thomas P. Scrivo have taken different career paths in the decades since they sat next to each other on the first day of constitutional law at Seton Hall Law School. Still, the longtime friends have each made their mark in New Jersey government and the Garden State's competitive legal scene.

Empowering Women

Developing and advancing our female talent is a fundamental focus for the firm, which is why we created the Women of OS program to promote empowerment through professional development, client-facing meetings, social outings, seminars, and practical advice and experiences. Programs include panel discussions and networking events focused on career progression and relationship building.

The Women of OS program sets aggressive goals for itself and offers support, teamwork, and accountability. We also support external organizations dedicated to elevating women in the legal profession, resulting in our attorneys holding leadership roles in various associations, including the New Jersey State Bar Association, Essex County Bar Association, and the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey.

Inclusion

With an Asian-American Managing Partner, we practice diversity and inclusion every day. Beyond the daily support given to our diverse attorneys and raising firm-wide awareness of these critical issues, we work with law schools and other organizations to promote the careers and growth of young and aspiring attorneys through networking events and job fairs. Our Managing Partners personally meet and guide diverse law students and attorneys along their career paths to help open doors. We also strive to expand our outreach related to diversity and inclusion beyond the practice of law and have focused our many philanthropic endeavors on ensuring the underrepresented have better opportunities.

Social Responsibility

The firm has a solid record of philanthropic initiatives and partnerships with charitable organizations. We encourage donating to nonprofits through an annual gift matching program with employees and promote participation in volunteer activities and events throughout the year. Our attorneys and staff also personally sponsor and support various charities and programs to provide additional assistance to those in need.
