Ya uses her diverse experience to represent and counsel employers in a wide variety of employment law issues. Her practice focuses on litigation and counseling related to claims arising under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Ohio Civil Rights Act, and other federal, state, and local laws. She has an active practice in federal and state courts as well as in administrative agencies throughout the country. Ya also teams with her clients to understand their unique goals and tolerances with respect to each case and addresses workplace disputes before they reach litigation.
Prior to joining Dinsmore, Ya defended state agencies at the New York State Office of the Attorney General, including employment law claims, civil rights claims, and administrative appeals. Earlier in her career, she also worked at the New York City Commission on Human Rights, where she enforced the city's anti-discrimination law, primarily within the employment context, and at The Legal Aid Society in New York City, where she served as a public defender and handled all aspects of litigation, including through trial.
