As a member of Womble Bond Dickinson’s GCSolutions team, Wayne Chancellor counsels U.S. and international clients on an array of matters important to corporate success including contracting, corporate governance, employment/labor law, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions and litigation. For the past 18 years Wayne has worked in the mining industry, honing his knowledge and skills related to environmental law and natural resources, mining operations, land tenure and water resources, permitting and regulatory compliance.
Wayne brings a wealth experience spanning over 26 years as an attorney, both in-house and in private practice. He has served as the General Counsel for operations in both North and South America, simultaneously managing teams of lawyers in multiple jurisdictions. During his tenure as an in-house counsel, he was instrumental in shaping and executing the company’s strategies and action plans while aligning operational priorities with the requirements of community relations, government affairs and ESG (environmental, social, governance) initiatives. Frequently interacting with stakeholders, government agencies, and legislative leaders, Wayne consistently facilitated the progression of mining projects and corporate objectives in an industry with significant regulatory oversight.
Prior to practicing law, Wayne served as a U.S. Army officer for nine years, and worked as an engineering project manager for companies focused on the development of advanced technologies for military and commercial applications.
