Steven J. French

Professional Biography

Steven French is an associate in the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, whose practice focuses on patent prosecution. He has long been a close and trusted adviser to his clients regarding patent matters and handles all stages of patent prosecution, including helping his clients to identify patentable inventions, drafting applications, negotiating with patent examiners, and managing international patent portfolios.

Steven assists clients of all sizes, from individual inventors to global corporations, and tailors his representation to the goals and needs of each client. With a strong background in physics and mathematics, Steven is a dynamic practitioner with technical proficiency in a range of technologies. He has extensive experience assisting clients in the fields of photonics, electronics, implantable medical devices, medical sensors, display devices, batteries and battery systems, thermochemical engines, wireless inductive chargers, sports equipment and clothing articles, and software-related inventions. Besides representing clients directly in the United States, Steven has experience handling international (PCT) applications and overseeing foreign applications in Europe, Canada, China, Korea, Japan, and Australia.

Steven received his law degree from Pepperdine Law School, where he served as an Editor for the Pepperdine Law Review. He served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Barbara A. McAuliffe of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California.

Steven is an active member and past president of the Glendale Bar Association. He has been named a Southern California Rising Star by Thomson Reuters for multiple years.
