Simon Jones is a partner in our Intellectual Property & Technology team.

Previously Leeds head of technology and global head of automotive at a global law firm, Simon has more than 27 years’ experience in advising clients on a wide range of IT and outsourcing projects, acting for suppliers and users of technology solutions in relation to numerous outsourcing projects, systems integration contracts, cloud computing, agile systems development, cybersecurity, data and e-commerce matters. In addition to the technology sector, Simon has a particular focus on the impact of technology on the automotive and advanced manufacturing sectors, particularly in relation to autonomous vehicles and additive and smart manufacturing.

Simon also has significant experience within the health, financial service and retail sectors, particularly in relation to omni-channel retailing, and has considerable expertise in the licensing of high-value brands, the establishment of new sporting events and negotiation of television rights, and a wide range of commercial matters relating to agency, distribution, logistics and supply matters.

Finally, Simon is a member of the IPT editorial board of Practical Law for Companies and is responsible for their outsourcing materials.
