Scott D. McClure is a Partner in Wiggin and Dana’s Corporate Department in the Washington, DC office. He brings to the table his expertise of nearly 30 years in Corporate Law. He started as an associate with a large, international firm in their Corporate Practice Group (Tax) division and worked his way up to being partner of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group Tax Division in which he led out the structuring of multiple taxable, tax-free domestic and cross-border reorganizations as well as stock and asset acquisitions.
Scott’s practice involves providing analysis of numerous corporate restructuring and recapitalization transactions as well as corporate division and spin-off transactions. At his previous firm, he served for an extended period as partner responsible for overseeing the formal associate mentor/training and development program, and managed associates for the tax practice group.
Scott earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law with high honors and was the Note Editor of the Duke Law Journal. Scott also successfully completed all sections of the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) Examination. In addition, Scott earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Adventist University, formally known as Southern College, and graduated summa cum laude.
