Rob is a partner who leads BAL’s Houston office. He has a deep knowledge of the business community in Houston, New York, Austin and other key markets throughout the United States. He specializes in driving business strategies for clients across several sectors, including finance, technology, energy and the pharmaceutical industry.

Rob leverages his business acumen and immigration expertise to help clients find creative solutions to workforce challenges, both in the United States and abroad. He has a wide-breadth of experience, working with Fortune 100 companies as well as smaller, community-based businesses and organizations.

Rob believes every immigrant brings something unique to the United States. He knew he wanted to be an attorney even as a child and often thinks about how immigration procedures have changed since his mother submitted a naturalization application and obtained citizenship without the help of an attorney. Today, Rob has a particular passion for helping clients with rapidly evolving needs navigate the tangle of immigration laws and regulations that are often slow to respond to emerging trends.

Rob is a frequent speaker at national and international industry conferences. He has held various positions within the American Immigration Lawyers Association, including having served as the chair of AILA’s Texas Chapter. He is active in the LGBTQ+ community, having previously served as a board member for Pride Houston, the Equality Texas Foundation and the Washington, D.C.-based Victory Fund.
